Introduction
Many books and sites on the internet start talking about PIC by it´s history, it´s architecture, and features, using terms like FLASH, Harvard architecture, RISC, EEPROM, Pipeline, etc… It is an avalanche of technical terms very bad explained (when explained) that just who already know can understand. This is exactly what scared me when I begin to study microcontrollers, and I will try to avoid it as I can. We need to know what these terms means, but we don´t need to start with them. We will learn the main concepts in the microcontroller´s technology first, so after that we are able to understand such terms. I want to make clear this website does not intend to replace the technical content already available (in books and internet) but give an extra view in the concepts involving microcontrollers.
This website intends to serve as a guide for those who wants to learn microcontrollers, using the PIC microcontrollers for the examples and applications. I will try to write the articles as simple as I can, as an introduction of this microcontroller´s technology, assuming you are already familiarized with some basic electronics and digital electronics. Here I intend to provide an alternative, always focusing the practice, avoiding the traditional organization adopted by the books and by many sites about PIC microcontrollers, by offering discussion of applications and concepts. I hope this blog be useful to everyone who is interested in microcontroller´s technology. Browse freely by the articles. There is not only one sequence to read and understand. Ask me about any doubts and/or give me feedback. Please, be welcome.
